Conclusion

There are frequently many stakeholders involved in the implementation of an alcohol interlock program.

Each of these agencies will ultimately be responsible for implementing and/or executing a variety of tasks associated with the delivery of alcohol interlocks to offenders. For this reason, planning and preparation are much needed to ensure the success of the implementation.

It is critical that agencies fully understand how the alcohol interlock program will be managed as a whole as well as their own role in the program. More importantly, establishing a clear system of delivery can assist agencies in writing administrative rules and or contracts that protect their interests and ensure the delivery of quality products and services to support the program.
